Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from the session?

First and foremost to have fun! This is time for you to enjoy being in the company of your favourite companion. Being in front of a lens can be daunting for some pets and people, but I'm here to put you at ease and be as unobtrusive as possible. What to expect will depend on the location you choose, but as a general idea I like to get some images at play and some at rest.

Where can the session take place?

Almost anywhere! The best locations are your favourite spots, so you're already in familar and comfortable surroundings. All I ask is you let me know in advance so I can familiarise myself with the location and the opportunities. However, if you still aren't sure where is best I'm happy to provide some suggestions.

Do you have a studio?

Not with bricks and mortar, but I do have portable plain backdrops and appropriate lighting if a more traditional portrait style set of images is what you're after.

Does my animal friend need to be able to sit still?

If only it were that easy! Whilst I like to get a mix of at play and at rest images, don't worry if your favourite companion can't sit still. There will be a wide variety of images we can capture at play.

My dog needs to be on a lead, is that a problem?

Not at all. They just need to be comfortable and enjoying their time with you. Whilst if you wish I can try to remove leads and collars in the editing process before you receive your images, I cannot guarantee that.

What do I need to bring on the day?

It's always handy to have some treats ready, along with any loved toys that your favourite companions enjoy. Oh, and don't forget that you too need to be in suitable and comfortable clothing for the location and weather!

Can I give you some inspiration/ideas for images I'd like?

Of course, if there is a particular image you want me to try to recreate, or you have an example of the sort of image you really want to capture, let me know in advance.

Do you photograph human friends with my animal?

As long as the humans are well behaved!

What should I wear if I want to be the photos?

I will be able to get the most variety of images with different backgrounds and styles if you wear clothing as plain as possible with solid neutral colours. However, if that isn't your style don't worry, we will make it work!

Does my horse need to be tacked up and ready to ride?

That's up to you, your session time will begin at the time we've agreed, so if you want to include images of tacking up and grooming we can, or if you want the whole session to be out and about that is also fine.

Where can our session be?

I'm located in Gloucestershire but am willing to travel throughout the South West and South Wales and even further afield by prior arrangement. Session prices stated include travel within a 30 mile radius of my Gloucester base, any further there is a small pence per mile charge.

How do you manage the great British weather?

There's just no controlling it! Keep an eye on the forecast beforehand, and if you would like to rearrange all I ask is that you give 48 hours notice. However, some wonderful images can be captured in the rain so that's fine too.

Are there any animals you can't photograph?

Whilst I can't claim to have experience of every species in the animal kingdom, I will give anything a good go!

What happens after the session?

I'll spend some time making little edits so your images are everything you'd hoped for, then you will receive an email with a link to a Zip folder download containing all of your images. This could take up to 14 days after your session.

It all sounds great, how to I pay?

First get in touch and we can chat about your requirements. Once you've decided you definetely want to go ahead, payment can be made via PayPal. Please understand that full payment must be made in advance of your session.

What if I have any other questions?

Please ask them, there are no silly questions! Get in touch here.
